Roy Illsley, Chief Analyst, IT & Enterprise, Omdia | Informa Tech
Roy is the chief analyst for enterprise IT at Omdia, formerly Ovum, with more than 35 years’ IT experience. He is also the lead analyst for virtualization and cloud computing. He has a BSc (Hons) in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, an international MBA, and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (MIET) holding the registered status of a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Roy’s key areas of research include cloud computing, software-defined technologies, IT strategy, service management, and data center technologies. He also advises on operational management, DevOps, automation, virtualization, VDI, and workspaces.
Roy was the lead IT analyst on a £2.9bn company merger and the IT architect on a major RFID project.
