A complete and up-to-date understanding of the assets that comprise your IT environment is the foundation for effective cybersecurity. Your Information Security team cannot protect your organization without this understanding because the assets that pose the highest risk are the ones that you don’t know about. Yet digital transformation is driving decentralization of traditional IT processes, and asset tracking and lifecycle management processes are struggling to cope. IT operations teams continue to be the groups responsible for maintaining asset lists–the same lists your security org use as the foundation for what needs to be secured and monitored–but the digital and ephemeral entities on which the business relies often aren’t considered assets.

In this session, we'll explore:

  • Why Security and IT ops teams must work together with a shared understanding where digital assets like IP address and certificates hold as much weight as endpoints
  • How new technologies can help you discover and automatically track your Internet-facing inventory
  • How, with this foundation in place, you can deliver a meaningful reduction in your attack surface
