In the first nine months of 2019, at least 621 government entities, healthcare service providers and school districts, colleges and universities were affected by ransomware. The attacks caused massive disruption. Patching vulnerabilities used by ransomware to encrypt files can seem like an insurmountable task for IT organizations. It doesn't have to be. In this session, we'll present research findings that demonstrate how most ransomware uses a small number of vulnerabilities, many of which are old, to compromise corporate networks and infrastructure. You'll learn how to filter thousands of vulnerabilities to focus on a small, manageable list that if remediated can inoculate against ransomware. Dr. Mukkamala will explain how this approach eliminates the need for an army of IT professionals to address ransomware risks.
