This talk will focus on how where Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts were initially developed. We'll look at the challenges that Bell Labs, Google, and Nationwide faced that resulted in building SRE capabilities from the ground up, so you can apply the parts that address your situation. We'll look at specific issues and opportunities addressed along the way.

This talk will dive into key skill sets needed, and how this role fills gaps and interacts with other technology roles.
