Thanks to a combination of advances in genomics, improved data collection and storage, and new data analysis techniques, healthcare solutions are transforming from one-size-fits-all to personalized. Treatments now take into account that people are different, have different networks and influences, different risk factors, and different preferences, and design appropriate individualized treatment and preventative health plans. Many of the underlying principles of personalized healthcare are analogous to talent management, the attraction, development, motivation, and retention of productive, engaged employees. In this talk, we will describe the details of this analogy and how to take advantage of employee data and big data analytics to transform talent management. We will touch on the topics of networks of influence and privacy as they relate to individual employees as well as how a personalized system can better address changes in the IT workforce.
