Every day, companies struggle with finger pointing when it comes to resolving application performance and security issues. Time after time, it comes down to digging through the data packets traveling across the network to find out exactly what is happening. This hands-on workshop will focus on how to capture the right packets using the free and open source packet analyzer Wireshark, and what to do with those packets once they are captured.
For the last 25 years, Mike Pennacchi has been turning packet traces into results. In this full-day workshop, he will take the attendees through the process of how to successfully collect the packet traces. Once collected, he will demonstrate how to create a number of predefined filters to quickly get to the root of many application performance problems.
Whether you are troubleshooting slow applications or trying to figure how how someone attacked your network, knowing how to read the packets is key. This workshop will provide the skill necessary for both the beginning and advanced user.
