IoT and stream analytics are both data-centric, complementary and increasingly integrated into a solution. Both are exciting topics with many moving parts and a noticeable amount of information to digest. The time and effort needed to become proficient with the two subjects can be significant. That however need not always be the case, as this workshop takes a direct and accelerated approach to maximize the learning with a relatively small amount of time. It is an opportunity to learn by analyzing, architecting and constructing an IoT solution with stream analytics with a hands-on approach. Specifically, this workshop takes you through the process of constructing a solution from defining problems, developing concepts, composing an architecture, building components, integrating with stream analytics to visualizing data.
Although the architecture model and the logical steps are vendor-agnostic and product-neutral, we will use Microsoft Azure as the cloud platform to actually construct a functional and realistic IoT solution with stream analytics. One can personally get a free trial account from Microsoft web site and complete the labs with a personal laptop, while connected to the internet.
Some of the planned learning activities include:
- Constructing an IoT solution
- Creating and integrating stream analytics
- Managing and monitoring IoT devices
- Using simulated device, Raspberry Pi and Node-RED to prototype a solution
Programming skills will be helpful, yet not required for completing this workshop. The main focus is to learn the process and use readily available tools to develop and integrate architectural components, so they collectively work together to deliver an IoT solution with stream analytics.
Note: an RSVP is required for Workshops & Summits. Please RSVP by making your selections in your registration account.
